Cast Iron Skillet Meals for Two

Cast Iron Skillet Meals for Two is a collection of the best cast iron skillet recipes, period. My first recollection of cast-iron cooking was of my Mom, frying fish over an open fire on a Shasta Lake camping trip. Nothing ever tasted that good again, and it instilled in me an appreciation for delicious meals cooked in cast iron.

The availability of smaller cast iron skillets makes it easier for home cooks to prepare cast iron skillet dinners for two. I was never a big fan of dragging out a huge cast iron pan. Now that I am cooking for two, I have a collection of small cast iron pieces, more suited for small-batch cooking. From a small grill pan, perfect for two burgers, to an eight-inch skillet for a one-pan meal, I have all the bases covered. Check out the best mini cast iron pieces at Lodge, makers of heirloom-quality cookware and accessories since 1896, with two foundries in Tennessee. Yes, made right here in the USA.

    Let's Get Cooking!

A cast-iron pan helps you get a delicious complete meal on the dinner table in less time, with less clean-up. Cooking in cast iron is a great way to use up spinach from the fridge, tomato sauce from the pantry, and Italian sausage from the freezer to make a skillet lasagna. Use a cast iron skillet to make a golden brown chicken pot pie or a sweet potato hash with a fried egg on top. Cast iron pots and pans are one of the best things you can spend money on. They last forever and once they are properly seasoned, require a minimum of care.

Not a full meal, but an equally impressive dish is my Lemon Thyme Cheese Scones, made in a cast iron skillet! I hope you try some of these easy recipes, impress family and close friends, and get the most out of your kitchen workhorse, the cast iron skillet!
